  1. Create a free account

    Sign up and copy an access key from your API Keys page. The free plan includes 200 screenshots a month.

  2. Connect your AI tool

    Install the Claude Desktop extension, paste a short config into Cursor, VS Code, or another MCP client, or skip installs entirely with our hosted endpoint.

  3. Ask for a screenshot

    Describe what you want in plain English. Your assistant picks the right options and returns the screenshot right in the conversation.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude use external tools. An MCP server provides those tools. Ours adds just one: website screenshots, taken through your Screenshot Scout account.

No. Setup means installing the Claude Desktop extension or pasting a short configuration block into your client, and the setup guide walks you through both. After that, everything is plain English.

Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Devin, and Cline are covered step by step in the setup guide. Anything else that supports MCP almost certainly works too.

The MCP server itself is free and open source. Screenshots come out of your Screenshot Scout plan: 200 a month on the free plan, more on paid ones. Failed attempts and cache hits don't count.

It won't capture pages that require a login, and it leaves out developer-grade options like custom cookies, proxies, and injected code. All of that exists in the Screenshot Scout API, but it's deliberately left out of the MCP server to keep it safe and simple.
